This one was a sleeper..pretty dull in the beginning but turning out pretty nice..[IMG][/IMG]

This started aa a really small red dot on a bare coral....I 've watched it for weeks and let it grow and it's an awesome metallic red with neon pink eyes echino!
[/IMG]

This one is my baby..blue with neon grn eye echinopora pacificus..was a steal for 95$ from a nearby LFS...[IMG][/IMG]

Ok, here is my new addition

This one has a lot to color up I got it because it's got green eye and pink outside but pink part is not so good now...
I think this is echinopora with green eye which looks like flower.

This one has vary funny marking on it's body two different tone....
with green eye which looks like flower. I think is Echinophillia.

Thanks

i think they're both echinophyllia. do you have any echinopora? the texture is way diff than echinophyllia.

Ditto. Echinopora are more like a warty plating monti, whereas the Echinophyllia are distinct in their LPS-like tissue.

mschriskim-
check out the pic 2nd from the top of this page....that is an echinopora. Tissue is thin, more fragile and as Mac says, like a warty monti. Hope that helps!
Both new ones are cool..congrats!

Watermelon chalice

I guess God was smiling my way when I ran across this! I saw the Watermelon chalice posted as the latest edition on tyree's Reef Farmers and immediately went into "chalice lust".

It's the most vivid pink I've ever seen on a coral. The first week it had no green on it but as you can see it's starting to "green up".

Enjoy!

what type of lighting and water flow is the best for these types of corals? I've seen some at the lfs but they don't know much about them...

I think that mosrt LPS tend more towards low to moderate lighting and low to moderate flow.
