No need to spend that much money for an invertor.
You can buy an automatic air pump run by to D-cells battery at premium aquatic for $17.00 some thing. You hook to an out let and place a tube in your tank. When the power is out the pum will turn on automatic and run close to 15 to 18 hours. I have two of those in my main tank and one in my sump. I have a 375gal reef tank and a 75gal sump. Only two months ago, when I got home from work and I saw the clock on the oven was flasing. It does that when the power if off. I ran down to my tank I thought that might have some deaths in it. The tanks was just fine. Everything is nice and happy like it was nothing happen. I check the clock and compare to my battery clocks. The power was out for five hours or more. I put in a fresh batteries for each air pumps and put it back to the tank. The air pum will come with an air stone but don't use the air stone. Cause it makes smaller bubbles and does not create much turbulance. I attach an air line stick about a foot long to a clear airline tube that came with the pump. This way bigger bubbles would come out and disturb the water. Mattt. |
