I picked up about 25 lbs of rock a little wihle ago. I also got a few mason(1/2" and 5/8") bits over the weekend. I made a test hole, and it very easily makes the rock into a fine white powder. As pegs I am going to use CPVC(1/2"). I'll take some pics as I am doing it.

I think you'll like the rock stacking. I did the same, except I used a 3/8" bit and PVC tubes. No rocks fallen thus far.
 It looks like the Tunzes work pretty well in you tank. Would you say they're underused or do you feel like you get pretty good use out of them? Lastly... more pics please
