The intake of a 1260 is VERY restricted compared to a 1262. In normal aquarium applications, the 1262 will have a lot more flow (I've used both). You can swap the volutes out and convert one to the other.

Few, if any, pumps can match Eheim's durability. There are LOTs of 15 - 20 year pump stories with Eheims........let's hear all the 15+ year OR stories?

I have one that is 6 now and still plugging away. I also bought my Turboflotor 1000 used a little over 4 years ago so I don't know how old the 2700 is on it. I do not know how long OR pumps have been available in the States but it may not be much more than 10 years so its an unfair comparison. I will still put the OR up against any Eheim.

sounds like you can't go wrong with either to me. the choice is ehiem (no bad raps, pricey, more watts, longevity tried and proven) or oceanrunner (no bad raps, more economical, less watts, longevity prospect looks good).
no need to dispute which is best. peak in the wallet and go from there... Last edited by KMP; 01/02/2008 at 09:43 AM. |
