How can you say it's inactive if you havent seen them in person? And it has no difficulty turning around.. And I only posted 2 pictures so why say that.
You said it was less active than your coral cat. But then Bamboos are usually less active.

And I actually said "seem so inactive", not was inactive. There's a pretty big difference.

But then I was basicing that on a 36" long shark in a tank - that's about 24-30" wide. Since you just said your Bamboo is about 30" long - that could explain why it's doesn't appear to have difficulty in turning around yet. But mark my words - it eventually will. Especially since Brown-banded Bamboos can reach 40-42" in length.

A 3' long Brown-banded being kept in a standard 300 gallon - actually a pretty sad site. Your Coral Cat could likely stay in a 300 for life without any problems. But the Brown-banded will out grow it pretty soon - say maybe a year to 18 months (tops).

Btw - yes Coral Catsharks do grow past 24" long. The species max is 27". So actually a 24" Coral Cat - is more like a 7.5' Human.

Geez guys, leave the man alone. He's right, the average Coral Cat doesn't exceed 24" in length. Just like Ken said, a 24" Coral Cat is like a 7.5' human, pretty uncommon site. But yes, Coral Cats can reach around 26-27" long.

I'm not really worried about his Coral cat - since I already know it won't likely out grow his tank.

I'm more concerned about the Brown-banded Bamboo. I've seen videos of people keep 3' long bamboos in a 300 gallon tank on YouTube.com - Trust me - It's not good.

One look at one of these videos - and you'll quickly understand - why Scott Michael is wrong in his minimum tank size estimations.

One nice thing about whitespotted and brown banded is that they are reefdwelers are thus used to and seek out tight places to live and hide. They are amazing at how they can deal with tight spaces.

Very true, LrgClasper. Just this morning, I saw my 8" BB Bamboo lodged in between two rocks. Between the rocks is about a 2" gap, the shark is around 3" wide at her gill area. Pretty amazing site.

First of all, I dont want to argue with anyone here. We can't centralize the size of every living thing here on our planet. IMO. Peace everyone. I hope noone would be sarcastic or something here.

You say it's too big for my tank. Did I say I wasnt upgrading my tank? Once it outgrows my tank,I'll be transfering him to my 800gallon pond.

Once I sold my catfishes in my 2 ponds,I'll be transferring my bamboo there. The other pond would be for my bamboo and the other will serve as a refugium,a large refiugium.

Here in the Philippines, bamboos are very common. I can see some of the bamboos laying eggs at our local LFS.

Btw,they have ponds for them. But some keep it in a 100gallon holding tank.

Chad,
Is that your bamboo on your avatar? He/She's cute..

I would like to see your coral cat now! I just purchased a marbled cat and like some details on your coral. They are pretty similar.

Looks good! Ever thought about giving them a little extra open sand space to swim and rest in?

After I got the shot's I removed some of my rocks to give them more space. I will put them in my pond once it starts cycling.

Thanx for the concern chad. I'm kinda excited about the pond though.

Not exactly sure who you were referring to, but that was a little uncalled for.

I feel the exact same way about my pond. Can't wait 'til its set up and can't wait 'til my shark goes in. She'll feel like the queen of the world.

Bartzenegger,

Hi sir,what do you mean?
She looks like just like my new marbled cat, which I know is definitely a marbled. If you look I posted some pics of her, she is also about 18 inches.

I don't think it matters that much though, other than marbles are from Australia and corals are indo pacific. I've also heard corals have more of a temper than their laid back Australian relative.

Sorry Mel but Lendz has a Coral Cat. Note the scattered large white spots on the sides, back and fin margins.

Marbled Cats have grey to greybrown saddles and black spots- no white spots

Lendz, your tank and sharks are looking great! Its nice to see that you have a plan ready to be implemented.
