Blennys are probaly one of the weridest fishes with the werid mouth and the cirris. But overall very entertaining fish. I wonder what the cirris are for?

Yep. It's a rare type of blenny, also known as the read streaked blenny I believe. Cirripectes Stigmaticus, I think this is the correct name for them. They are a maroon colour with a light grey marking through out its body. I used to own one for about 18 months, but it passed away, I think it had a disease in it's gills

cirripectes stigmaticus

HTH

Cheers

Chris

Thanks for posting the pic. I didn't know how, hence the link.

They are even better in person. I miss mine so much, like most blennies, had a great personality.

cheers

Chris

Anyone ever notice some blennys look like they have fangs? My bicolors side looks like he has fangs because of the white markings.

Yes, some blennies have venomous fangs, but they aren't advertised as dangerous by the online vendors. I like the canary blenny, but read it is venomous so I'm doing some research before I go out and buy something that might kill me.

I noticed most of these pictures are of herbavorous blennies. Are they picking on your corals?

What I meant was more like this

My bicolor has the same kind of markings on the side of the mouth so it looks like fangs but its not.

These Ember blennys might be the orange streaked blennys, but only in the juvenile state.

They might turn colors/paterns going from juvenile to adult like a large angel?
