That is just ridiculous.
I second the voice above that you show what can be done sticking with low tech. That's much more of an artform than thousands of bucks on a huge tank with huge lights, etc... so you've got that skimmer in their--and do you have the stock lighting with your own choice of those lights? Wow that's a fabulous tank.

I think big and small tanks can be artforms but different skills and strategies apply. I made a slight mod to the stock lighting. I'm still using the stock ballasts but put in 2x40W bulbs in place of the stock 2x32W. There actually is a fair bit of technology associated with my tank: - Sapphire Aquatics skimmer - NanoCustoms ICA 2.0 chiller - Premium Aquatics Lighthouse Controller w/ temp and pH probes - 2 heaters (75W and 100W) That's just about all I can fit under the hood I'm glad you like the tank and thanks for posting. |

The slide show shows tremendous progression.
Just out of curiosity, why run the skimmer only at night?

tests as of 1/04/08 Ca>480ppm, I'm bringing it down dKH=9, ok PO4=0ppm, ideal 1/06/08 after a water change Ca= 480ppm, still a little high pH= 8.2, I'd like it at 8.3 NO3= 10ppm, acceptable |

I run the skimmer only at night to keep the heat generated at a minimum. The chiller fan is kinda loud and I'd rather not have it running while I'm working. |

I really like the way certain coral look during the dawn and dusk cycles of my tank so I thought I'd post some pics. Here are some shots of the tank under actinics. I hope you like them.
Shrimps playing in the zoa and paly garden. Fungia plate looking for some food. Hermit crab playing on the open brain. I'll try to take an FTS shot under actinics and post it as well. |

Great job- I keep coming back to be insprired for my 29g. I am having trouble finding some of colorful coral I want to put in my BC. My LFS tell me it is difficult to get the supercolored Zoo's, etc... Where did you purchase yours from?

Aquascape
Junkitu, looks like your live rock aquascape is in a pyramid formation. Is it a full pyramid, or is it a half-pyramid with the rock resting on the back of the tank?

I'm trying to picture it now :-)
I really like it and it looks great. I don't remember seeing what the tank size is........ Also, what did you use for the "sugar cubes" to provide support? Last edited by villious; 03/03/2007 at 01:43 PM. |

What did you use for the "sugar cubes" to provide support, and did you "glue" your rock together or just have it sitting loosely on top of each other?
