I know one of the most difficult things is figuring out, "OK, where do I start?" I think this will be a good guide for those new to the hobby. Nice work!

It was against my better judgement.

I was just unsure of how to put it up there as it is somewhat of a mixed thread so I posted it under General.

I would include patience somewhere in the list (unless I missed it somewhere). The one additive that solves many, many problems.

Okay one thing i might have left out is to make sure you don't give up. There are some pretty complicated articles and books out there and even though you might not understand them the first time you read them don't give up and keep trying.

Try to be a Responsible Reefer and start out with some tank- raised fish like these.

I just found a Really Great link for all things dealing with saltwater aquariums.

If you are like me and you like things all neat and organized than this website is certainly for you.

I am always trying to find easier ways to memorize things and this place makes it really easy.

LOL, I have like 12 windows of information open to read through =) My fish are still alive after 7 months so I must not be a total screw up, but I have a LOT to learn because I want to setup my new tank the right way. I rushed my first tank and that was a HUGE mistake, learn, plan, acumulate, build....

Excactly right I am glad to see That others have prospered from this information

I think always having a plan is a great way to assure your success in the saltwater aquarium hobby.

If all the LFS stores would teach there employees one thing I would say that it should be to not Rush.

Also Along with Number 5 On The list here is two websites that have a lot of information about Supplementation, I have been doing a lot of research on this topic lately it is some hard stuff to grasp.

So read it a couple of times and then a couple more times than once more for good luck

An Improved Do-it-Yourself Two-Part

This website may also help

Something that might Help all those that are new to the hobby

I always see this not only on reef central boards but on many other boards.

People Purchase a Product lets say a test kit, and then they post a retraction to that purchase saying things like.

"I just bought"

or

"Its on the way right now but I have a question"

Now don't get me wrong I am not saying there is anything wrong with this, I am sure it has worked for many but please if you want to develop good aquarium habits

Always Ask Questions Before You Purchase And Ask Enough Until You Feel Satisfied.

This should help put you on the right track

Typing in extra large, red fonts is a exclusive characteristic of WaterKeeper. My lawyers will be contacting you shortly about possible copyright infringement.

Real Funny Waterkeeper,

I think the large font and colorfull words really help stress the emphasis of these topics and how theywill help people

If you wish I will only use them if they are a necessity

lol

Exclamation YO

So one thing I struggled to learn is all the different types of corals there are.

IF you read this article which is rather long but very informative you will be sure to be set on the right track.
