Ok, well it looks like I will bit the bullet and order one. Just want to clarify that the Xtreme 250 will be more capable if it performs as expected then the octo 300? Thanks everyone.

I got that same email jkreefer - hoping to get a different one soon.

Jayson - thanks for the thoughts on the 250. Very glad to hear that it's performing so well. I just sent you a PM with a few questions on it, but I'm sure others here are waiting for the same info so we can make our sumps... Could you tell us the operating depth? And also the total overall footprint so we know how big to make the chamber in the sump to hold the skimmer? Thanks!

Xtreme 250 footprint 16*16 operating depth should be between 8-10 inches. Thanks

Ok, gotta use a 40b for the sump now, thanks for the info. Do you know how tall the skimmer is with removal of the collection cup? I can't believe this skimmer is better then the octo 300 for less money! I should be ordering mine sometime this week.

If You have the room, something larger would be better for a sump for a 360 gal system. If it were me I'd look into a 75g or 120g as a sump. The 250 would work in either, but there will be MUCH more room than a 40b for fuge/liverock, or any future equipment add ons. Are yuo going to build a constant water level section for your skimmer to sit in?

The 40b is just for my 110g system. With the 360g, there will be a lot of water and rock in there, I won't need for large sumps with extra rock. I don't see a need when you have a huge tank to have an even bigger sump. But I will mostlikely to a 75g with a 75-90g refugium on the 360g. The 110g is just a holding tank for the 360g and I have a 40b laying around to use as a sump for the 250. I will also put on a 20g fuge to the 110g as well, just need to get that setup. I just need to know the height though because my stand isn't too tall.

Thats a good size footprint there....

Thankfully I'm going to use a 75g for a sump.

Jayson, any chance of a few pics showing the skimmate youre pulling out with the skimmer ???

Ouch - serious? 16x16? As in...inches? (I see you're in Canada, so I have to ask)

If so, that hurts. My sump is a 40g long - so it's only 12" wide. (not enough room in the stand for a 40b either ) The picture on the Marine Solutions site makes it look like it's longer in one dimension - so I figuerd it fit in the 40. Did the change the design after that pic was taken? Will it not fit in a 12"x16" space?

Do you have any pics you can share? What's the footprint of the 200?

Crap. Jayson just confirmed that it's a full 16". I just had to email and change my order to a 200 so it'll fit in my 12" wide sump.

On the bright side, that opens up 5 extra inches for the refugium.

I hear ya, I was expecting it to be more inline with the footprint of the BM250, but I guess 16"x16" will have to do..... I'm figuring I should still get a decent size fuge in a 75g tank.....

Did he give any idea as to the footprint of the Xtreme 200 ??

11.5"x13.5" - she'll be tight in my sump - but it'll fit.

I've heard 7" x 7" for the 160. I hope I receive mine by next week! Can't wait to replace this Berlin I've been using for the past 12 years.

Jayson - is the operating depth on the 200 also 8-10"? Any advantage to going with one height over the other?

I used to have to deal with Canadian customs a lot with my past job. It was never a fast process...

you have to understand Jayson's position as a seller of these...there are certain things that he can and cannot do on the forum boards to stay within the terms of usage regarding commercial posts....
