Come on...who is dropping off the Tour? I suspect tomorrow will be a very busy day on this thread.... some people will find out they are pregnant....some will get pregnant....some will flee the country...some arrested...some committed....

how was advanced aquatics
howdy to all those who went on the bus tour last weekend. am new to this (addictive) hobby and have been lurking in the shadows reading all these informative posts here and on nano-reef. been checking out all the LFS in the area (west loop here).

started at old orchard aquarium-- great service, nice folks, a bit pricey.

old town-- not the greatest selection, pricey, but nice guys.

we live about 10 min from downtown pets-- limited selection, ok prices, real nice people!

our new fave is advanced aquatics, but on our last 3 trips, we've noticed the quality of the tanks was getting a bit 'dingy' to say the least. bubble algae everywhere (same at old orchard). when i questioned the guys at both places, they didnt think it was a huge deal... overall, tho, despite the friggin long drive, advanced aquatics had a great selection of stuff for not too bad prices...

checked out the LFS (chgo aquatics?) in orland-- nice guys, good selection...

next on our trip will be dark lord in brookfield.

so, was wondering, how did you guys find the stuff at advanced aquatics? tanks cleaned up a bit?

any other suggestions for LFS?

They have been trying to ditch me for a couple weeks now....I'm stuck in the substitute queue. I notice new people being added to the main list which means they are bypassing me..thats ok though.
