Just picked up this little gem. Not sure what it is yet. Will try to id it soon. If any one has any suggestions please post.

Does not look like an encrusting type.

Thanks.

I guess I might as well post this pic in the thread as well, it's been posted a couple times already. But it's my favorite coral right now.

A great thread to revive! Nice montis all! Here's three wild encrusting colonies I've added since my last ones posted on page 8... this first one is the nicest wild monti I've scored in a couple years... bright green polyps with a nice contrasting powder blue base and purple growing edges in places... As always under supplemented 10k lighting

The next two don't have the best contrast on their polyps, but have earned points for brightness of their colors...

Here is one that I picked up a couple of weeks ago, this picture does it NO justice at all it is very purple with brown ployps.

I'm new to SPS is this an encrusting monti or a danea?

Thanx,

Rich

that is like asking if it is a ford or a mustang... same thing kinda

looks like it could be going danaeish... as the piece grows it will show more form.

bring over a frag and i will look at it closer.

i dont know about viagra but some aquarists really use Human Growth Hormone, HGH, to speed up coral growth. Apparently, this is more common in Italy.

I three weeks ago I picked up my first superman monti. It consists of around 4 quarter sized pieces on a rock. One of the sections gets high light and flow and it seems to be suffering a little. The polyps don't extend as the other more protected colonies do.

To much current??? To much light??? Seems to me but what works best for you all.

Thanks
