I think chalice is just a broad name for echinos, oxyporas and mycediums.

And here's an old photo of my orange sherbert. It's about 3" around now, but I don't like the color as much now. Probably because it's no longer under radiums. This shot was under 250w radiums...my fav bulb. I'm going to try the de 150 to see if I get the same color. Just ordered the bulb.

And here's another favorite - an old photo of it. Growth is fairly slow for this one.

Does anyone have any tips on where to pic up cool challices like these? Are there any particular online vendors that have the best selection or get these in more often? I've been looking around but haven't seen any this nice in the online stores....

Hi, Mark. As for the last one, it didn't have a "name" when I bought it. I got it quite a while ago. It's quite a showy coral. Here are two other photos of it:

Mine was just sitting at my LFS for $20, didn't have anything special about it in the title or price.

So for fragging (forgive me, I couldn't find this info out via searching):
Do I need to cut into the mainy lumpy body of the frag or can I just take parts of the outer ring of the frag which is the new growth?

If there are any links to fragging these guys I'd like to see them, I want to do it right so I can do some trades.

When I frag my echinos/chalices, I like to make sure there is at least one mouth on the frag. In my experience, this insures the survivability of the frag.

myusername, you'll have to upload your pictures to a file sharing site (like photobucket) then you can host them from here.

BTW, you gonna enter the UFC anytime soon

Greg, That picture is awesome, I must say that lone tenticle waiting to be "fed" is rather falic, lol.

myusername, Super nice colors on that chalice. I jsut picked up a nice watermelon type chalice from Ming over at Atlantis...it has super bright golden pinpoint eyes and the traditional pink/red base but instead of a green leading edge it has a nice blue/purple leading edge. Something a little different. But the eyes glow so deeply golden I was smitten with it right away. I know, worthless without a picture, lol. I'll try and get one taken tomorrow.
