Here is the second one completed and the wires all straitened out and ziptied:

I'm hoping to finish getting the lights hung tonight and the vent fans installed although I'm not sure I'll get all the duct work done until tomorrow.

Hop - those look awesome!! They look almost professional enough to have been bought commercial...

One question though...is it an optical illusion or something or does the reflector on the right look smaller than the one on the left?

WOW Hop. I just caught your thread and have to say everything looks great. I am soooooo jealous as I really wish I had a longer tank in order to space out my rocks just like you have and that way I could put another tang or two.

But I really must ask, do you not work? Man you have done this awesome set-up in no time.

I took like 5 months in order to complete mine.

Once again, it looks great. Congrats and enjoy!!!!

Looks AMAZING! Nice professional job

Where did you get the rivet gun? Lowes? I've seen a few people now using them and want to use one when I do my lights. Angle aluminum, where you get it.

Hope to hear from you soon

ALl at HD, Lowes, ACE...easy to come by, and fairly easy to use.

Thanks! And your eyes do not deceive you I'm trying to light two seperate, different sized and shaped rock piles and not the tank, so each has a different spread... Although I found out later it was not as dramatic as I wanted, but I do like it

Thank you! I still have a ton of little stuff to do to make sure every aspect looks finished, but the big parts are coming together

Yes I do work I've been doing the same thing for 13 years so I have 4 weeks vacation every year, plus 11 holiday days (since I have to work holidays they give us 11 extra days of vacation) and I work twelves, so I can take 3 days of vacation and have 11 days off PLus I'm getting over knee surgery where I had to stay at home for 4 months, so a lot got done then.

Thanks J! It didn't quite turn out the way I had planned in my head, but I still like it. I'll just be playing with a few other ideas

I'll be hitting you up tomorrow night I'm sure And as J said, just a cheap-o from the hardware store. It makes working with the aluminum very easy!

Thanks! It is no where near finished but getting close to where I can run on auto-pilot and slow things to my pace!

Alright! Well we are up and running although nothing except the act are on the neptune yet and I still have some vent work to take care of. But anyways, we'll show the progress of the evening.

There was n way to do a step-by-step here as it took every hand in the house to contort to install the fan and lights. So here are the lights hung. I put plastic over the tank since I was punching holes in the wall.

The lights were a little crooked at first due to the wires:

ACT only. Sorry on white balance adjustment... Just the PHD setting:

halides on. The left is a 175 XM10K and the right is an overdriven 400watt 20K... I'm still playing with lighting effects that I want to instill on this build so nothing permanent yet:

And here is the first shot of the beginning of the ventilation system. I'll go more in depth on this later:

I just decided that I wanted an in-wall tank more than a closet It does get old telling the kids to take their coats and hang them in the office closet. Like right now there is a huge pile of shoes under the tank

Thanks Steve... I'm not so sure it will be staying this way... But we'll see, I may run it for a while and try a tad bit off supplemental lighting.

I'm not so sure they went away. Colorado is pretty liberal and they probably got off with a 100 fine and some probation And their on-going commitment to the SW hobby

It went in the fatty portion of my finger, bounced of my knuckle and came back out about an inch down... It hurt last night... But today it is a lil bruised Oh well... Wouldn't be building if I didn't bleed!
