I always get a chuckle when ppl bust on those who buy these. They are not mojanos as new noob has stated. I put 3 of these guys in my tank years ago, and to this day only see one or two. They DO NOT sting other corals, I have witnessed them touching every type of coral I have with no ill effects. They split occasionally but I have had one split only once over the past few years. They are in no way harmful to the tank or its inhabitants.

Well either way. I like the way they look, and they never bother nobody. So they're staying.

I'd like to have some tulips. That thing is pretty, and if I had it on an isolated rock in the sand bed, I couldnt see how it would be a problem even if it were accidently fed .

well they can grown or spread in some places that you dont want to. like in the mittle of you zoos. or just right in the bottom of your favorite acro. colonie. but they are easy to kill so i dont see any problem with them

Yes, but they wont get off an isolated rock in the middle of the sand bed.
Your english is better then my spelling Kenny. I just didnt know if by "take it out" you ment the mofia term of killing it, or just moveing it.

IME they will sprean even in you have the in a isolated rock. well actually in my case it went from a big rock to a insulated rock. just right in the middle of my GSP. they are like any other anemone. they will roam the tank untill they find a nice place were they can get more food ad light.
but anyone. is nothing that you can't control. it doesnt spread like mojano and aiptasia.

I have these tulips in my frag tank and like them..... I bought 3 of them a year ago from an RC'er in the selling forum here and now I have like nine or ten. They are all still on the same rock that I placed them on. I paid $16 shipped so they price is kind of high, especially for one. They don't grow anywhere near as fast nor are they as mobile as majanos or aptasia.
Here's a pic.... |

eBay allows some types of macro algae for sale, weeds no but some algae, all depends on the state laws of the seller and buyer. Just ready the regulation on eBay as to what you can sell.

What do people think about putting these in a refugium? Although aptasia are bad, they are good filter feeders and I have heard of using them in a refugium, but then of course if they get back in to the main tank, then ick. But these are much more attractive.
I wonder if they use nitrates and phosphates the same way? Might be a fun way to filter, anyone try this? |

Those are tulip anemones. I have them in my tank and they are really pretty. Bought them from a member here on RC. Nice little anemones and NOT a pest at all.

They don't just say "no weeds allowed", there is a list of federally defined noxious weeds that are not allowed.
Not like it really matters, they have dozens of things that are prohibited that are all over Ebay. One good example is that they don't allow the selling of animals... well, there are a LOT of corals on Ebay. |

They look kinda like what we call Rock Anemones out here.
Collected a couple from one of the jetties one night... One is 2 shades of blue, the other is a intersting blue/red mix. Both are maybe, 1-2 inches across max. Haven't moved since they found pockets in the rocks to settle into. |

I have some tulip anemones like john76 posted, in about 1 year they went from 2 to about 15. We give them away or maybe $5 each in our club. They don't hurt anything and do well in low or high light.
