Hey, where's the fish?
![]() Also, what's the theory behind the bubble diffuser plate on this skimmer and others like bubble king etc? Even dispersion? I'm not up on the latest skimmer improvements ![]()

They're intended to create even dispersion and reduce turbulence. I guess the theory being that you can develop a more stable foam column in a short bodied skimmer.

i think they also prevent large bubbles from forming, but that goes along with even dispersion.

Man, I am so jealous... That thing is sweet!!
measured air yet? |

I don't have a air meter, but others are getting 500-550 lph with the needlwheel and close to 750lph with the meshwheel. I'm running the needlewheel right now.

What is the chamber that the airline passes through? A muffler?

Return pump to display, 1048 or is that another1250

Return pump to display is a 1260. I tried a 1250 as the return just to see how it would work, and the head pressure slowed it down too much.

Thats a small return pipe.. Have you "guessimated" gph ?
#72

I think the 1260 is rated in the neighborhood of 630 gph, so after headloss I would bet 400-450gph, but I haven't bothered to run it through the headloss calculator.

Well they didn't have an Eheim 1260 on the calculator so I used another pump with a similar output and it said 431gph.
