Beautiful photos! I have one suggestion for you however.
Since you are good at what you do underwater, invest in a copy of photoshop, and buy the book "Photoshop for digital photographers" I hope you don't mind, I took one of your pics and adjusted the levels, and color balance to show you how much better your images could look. You could probably even make a few bucks on the side.

Thanks for sharing again .
I feel like been there in the reef. As for the camera ,I think you are using Ixus 400 with UW housing. All these photos are taken from the same camera ? Have you fix the external flash or you are using the camera flash ? |

i am so happy I have a random esktop background generator, that way I do not have to pick only a handful of your images. I have saved quite alot of what you have here, and now everyday no matter what I am doing, I can get a great experience of the reef thanks to you. You are doing low income city folk like myself a great service man. Seriously.
Thank you very much.

How far to the reef from Townsville? I'm trying to move to Australia and was looking at moving to the Cairns/Townsville area and wanted to be close to the reef. Also, I assume there are plenty of beach dive locations all around?
Thanks, Chris |

Great photos once again.....My 8y/o and I look at your new ones every week or so.....Do you have any more shots of Bluey? If so would love to see them.... We went to Maui last month and she was convinced she would be able to find Bluey while we were snorkeling...She talked about him the entire trip...

Hey guys,
Time for another update; stathis: My camera is indeed an IXUS 400 with housing, and no strobes or extra lenses. Dyepes: No worries, i'm more than happy to be showing people what is out there. I'm glad you're enjoying the photos! tibbs2: Townsville is about 50 nautical miles from the reef, (inshore islands have fringing reefs) so it's a day trip to get to the reef. It's still close enough to spend a nice day out there though, and its good to be out in the clear water offshore. There is no shore diving here though, unless you count the islands. FIJI Reefing: Collecting is ok if you have the required permits, and do it in the right place in the right way. There is also a very limited range of things you can collect. Bluey101: I'm glad Bluey has a fan! He lives in Sydney though, and i'll be up in townsville until the end of the year, so no more pics just yet. I'll be sure to go visit him when i'm back though. Sad news!! Two days ago i was out at magnetic island, and my camera finally gave up on life. After being dropped on practically every continent, and doing magnificent service since 2003, the end has finally come. It did well, i recon well over 15,000 photos easily in it's lifetime. Anyway, i'm now trying to scrape together enough money to get a new camera, but it could be a long task. I still have a few thousand photos ready to be posted from previous trips though, so don't worry just yet! |
