pump size for diy ATO?

I am following the diy ATO on melevsreef and it is for a NC24. The water resivoir is at the bottom of the stand so there will be about 4 feet of head pressure. I know that i will not need a large power head but i am not sure if a small one will be able to pump up into my tank as i see most are only rated for 20" or less of head pressure. Any help would be greatly appreciated and remember i am a college student so i don't have big bucks for this project. Thanks again
