Quarantine everything!!! Bugs SUCK!
Ok, after almost a month of taking everything out of my tank and dipping LR. I THINK I finally rid of them cirolanid isopod. It all started when I got a zoa rock from a LFS. I iodine and FW dipped it and put it in the tank. After a few hrs, I saw a zoa eating nudibranch floating in the water column and I took it out immediately and observe the tank for the next 2 hrs...then I saw a few BIG cirolanid isopod. So, I took the rock out (a little too late at this point anyway) and started brushing it and dipping it and brushing....And I decided to crack it open and came to my surprises, I found 3 of those nasty worms that have 3 whiskers on its head (they scared the hell outta me...scary ugly!).
I have all my fishes in a 55 gal right now and planning to put them back 2 months later. 3 months should be enough to starve those suckers right? I still have the pested rock in QT to watch for any eggs/newborn. I think I am good as far as the nudibranch. One thing I learned to do from all of this...dipping's not enough...quarantine everything before they go into the display!!! End rant... |
