My 18g Gyre Setup...

I bought this tank to use as a sump, but didn't fit under the stand the way I liked it, so after making some modifications and some stuff that was laying around, a tank was put together the 1st week in July. Here it is about 3 months later and through the algae outbreaks and it is settling in nicely. Now pondering on upgrading the lights and added some corals. Here is what is invested:

18g tank with NO flourescent lightstrip
sheet of eggcrate
sheet of plexiglass
can of black spray paint
Timer Powerstrip
SEIO 620
Penguin powerhead with sponge filter
50W heater
20lbs of live sand
piece of lava rock
one free damsel from LFS
one mexican Turbo Snail
one Dwarf blue legged Hermit Crab

So less than $100 for a pretty stable setup so far. This is a closed system, no hang on the back items, it sits in my bedroom with absolutely 0 noise coming from it.
