Ouch....

Kiowascout - you read it wrong. It wasn't the heaters that stuck - it was the HOUSE thermostat that stuck. The house hit 107 - the tank was just an innocent bystander.

I have a hard time believing that a house heater would get a place up to 107. if it stuck on in the summer, sure. but in the winter? unless it was a really small house with a large furnace.

What house thermostat even goes up to 107? Mine doesn't.
What reason would there be for a thermostat to be able to be set that high?

I used to have a dial thermostat in the hallway, and either myself or my wife bumped...when I got home from work (I think that it was February or March BTW), the house literally was 95 degrees. I didn't have SW at the time, but I did have a dog, 2 cats, 2 FW tanks and a turtle tank. Everything survived, but I had to open all the windows in 40 degree weather for like 2 hours to cool the place down...
