John looks great! Just a thought, I run a 1262 on my 7 foot 210. I've been thinking of going to a 1260 when/if the 1262 dies. No need to run that much GPU through that little sump.

i am going with the 1262 since i am placing my chiller outside 7-8 feet from the sump. The tank will be in the family room against the wall which leads into the garage so i can olace my chiller on top of the washer dryer.

stay away from the ASM mini not good, euro reef rs 80 another good option.
Don't bother with the 6045 just buy two 6025's and do the mod on them for more flow. The canopy and tank look awesome. I had a corner unit, I love the way they looked, but it was a pain to light it looks good |

looks like you are going all the way, may I suggest that instead of the medusa, you get an ACJr. for not all that much more. I would not consider running a reef without one

John,
Nice looking setup. Definitely hit up the Tunzes with the dremel to boost the flow. As your main source of circulation, your going to want them to be at their best. FWIW, my brother (Hack Job) has been running modded 6025s for 6-9 months now with no problems (aside from broken clips which Tunze handles as it's a known problem). The flow is nice in his tank (same corner as yours) and he is running a OR3500 for return but not pushing through the chiller. I have a sump I've been building to go under my 60g cube using the same external dimensions as yours. With Baffles separating the midle from a 4.25" (as your looking at the length of the sump) return chamber, there is just enough room to squeeze my CS6-2 in the middle compartment, but not enough room to add a gate valve. The last thing is the lighting. If I recall, your front pane is like 30". The 250 on the Hammy HQI ballast driving a 250 DE will have no problem pentrating to the bottom of the tank, and will light the middle area well. But you won't have great lighting out to the sides. My brother has been struggling with this for the past couple months. At first he was running (1) 250 DE, but came from a 90g setup with (2) 400s, so it looked a little dark. Then he upgraded to (2) 250s and IMHO it looked good. Then he swapped that for PCs ty try and save some $$ on his power bill. Yesterday he went back to (1) 250 and is thinking about some supplemental lighting, but the shape of the canopy causes some problems with that as you're well aware. Anyhow, just giving you a heads up on the lighting difficulties with that tank shape/size. I almost forgot, I know you already have a controller and previously had an ACjr. But If the funds are there, I'd seriously consider ditching the Medusa now, and getting the AC. You mentioned that you're planning on upgrading to 6055s, and the Aqua Surf (I think that's what it's called) module from Neptune works with your AC and is a highly programable controller for the DC Tunze pumps. I believe the module is less expensive than the 7095 controller, and is more open in how it in turn can be controlled by an Aqua Controller. Again, I love the look of the woodwork on your tank, and it sounds like you're off to an awesome start. Chris |

I don't envy you when it comes maintenance time
I have the same problem under my 60. 10lbs of stuff in a 5lb bag. At least on mine, I can get at it from 3 sides though. If you have room, think vertically. It's going to be hard to setup your calcium reactor once your skimmer is in the sump and you can't easily get to and see things. If there is a way you can elevate your reactor, to get it where you can see it above the sump, it might be helpful. Will the sump fit in lengthwise with the sock compartement to the rear instead of accross the hypotenuse of the stand? That would allow you to put the CO2 bottle. and reactor to the side and in a more viewable area. Looks like you're getting close to being ready for water! Chris |

ha ha.. I am hoping that I wont have to do much maintenance to my calcium reactor since my tank is so small. I am planning to elevate the calcium reactor and the co2 a few inches up. The sump can not go lengthwise either, it barely fit as is now
john (hope to have water in 2-3 weeks)
