Titanium heat probe
I seem to be getting a white crusty precipitation on the probe.
Any thoughts on why titanium would cause this? The crust can be scraped off and the titanium itself seems to have not corroded. What chemical reaction would titanium play in precipitation ? |

is the probe close to a kalk drip?

I don't think its the titanium. Sounds like calcium deposits to me.
If you can, put the probe in a higher flow area. |

I wondering why plastic or glass heaters don't cause a similar response? and what if there is a bi-product to this reaction like chlorine bromine, fluorine......

That's an interesting question. Perhaps the titanium provides better nucleation sites, or perhaps some tiny bit of current has an effect.
