my big creation (150 gal. build from scrach)

My 60 gal. tank was never intendent for sps so no need was there for mh lights or calsium reactor,
but when I started putting frags in there against all reason....
well it has been an expiriens
one disaster after another and even tough the tank is ok right now it is a HIGH maintenens system
and looks like a pile of junk if you look at it from a small distance. (my girlfrend is quite patient).

but it is a little better on the inside.

so i decited on a new tank that would look cool from a small distance
this is my designe...

so there is nothing to do but start building!

the stand is steel and will be painted whit black hammorite
and will have birk cover,
well I hope you will enjoy seeing this come to real as much as I will.

thanks. me also, my 60 gal is getting on my nerves right now
just found my yellow tang dead wich takes my fish stock from 4 to 3, but I dont think it was my tank that killed him,
the onle thing i could see was a little dark (shadow) under the skin on one side....
but I'm still getting tired with it allways something!!!!

I am waiting to get my glass so I can start bulding my aqarium, the supports for the tank and lights is finished,
and I bought the plummings and silikon today.
I'll post pics of the supports for the tank and lights soon.

I bet it will be great,

love that last pic, looks so cool,

oh and the tank will look great, I like the pieces of glass rather than the circle(round) of acrylic, which make things look distort

It can get a bit hot when you are welding (about 2000°C) in the center of the welding,
but you only feel some heat nothing to much because of the helmet
and other protections!

Awsome! Your tank is off to a great start! I wish I had the talent to build a tank from scratch.

Is that a fox pelt on the black chair in the first photo?

Thank's, it's coming bit by bit. I heard that the glass should be ready
tomorrow or friday, so hopefully I can start building the aqarium during the weakend.

Yes it is my girlfrend's red fox she wears it during viking festivals.

I've been in Spain the last week so not much has been happening here. Not like much would had been happening since the glass just arrived today, but I can pick it up tomorrow.

I forgot to write the measures of the tank, so here they are:
L. 47"
H. 27,5"
W. 25,5"

The lighting will be 2x250w mh and four T5, two white and two blue.

The skimmer will be Deltec ap600 and the calsiumreactor is Shuran jetstream 1000 if I remember correctly.

The flow will be crap to start with but will hopefully be fixed soon. I'll put some pictures soon of the progress.

Yebb Spain was sweet. 30°C and sunny, swimmingpool and beer

I went to pickup my glass today and the petshop decided to close at 13.00 instead of 16.00 so they where closed... Lucky me! But the supports for the tank and the lights are in place, so now I'm only missing the aquarium!

I made a concrete rockwork to pile the liverock on to reduce the toxic buildup under the liverock and it's been cycleing in seawater for about one and a half month now. The cycleing was going a bit slow so I took it out and scrubbed it in the shower, after that the ph was considerably lower.

My Indian ringneck, eager to help!

this is one half of the rockwork, the other half looks the same. I also have a small piece to make an island somewhere in the tank.

I reckon I'll have a drink to that. Half the yankees in the US look at me like I am sub-human when I use that word.

Yep that's a bull shark. They are pretty common in the Southeast here.....and unforunately they do eat people on occasion.

Good luck with the water test on the tank

Chris
