Coral ID Resource
What are some good comprehensive resources with MANY coral photos and IDs (both web and books)? For example, was looking at a "Montipora" that I may want, but can't find a pic of a Montipora that looks anything like it. Same with a Cynarina. One, would like to ID them better and two make sure they really are Montipora and Cynarina. This is just a couple of examples.
Thanks

Try Aquarium Corals by Eric Borneman
There is also the Corals of the World set (pricey) by JEN Veron. As far as websites, the AIMS CoralSearch website is good and much of the info is by the above author: http://www2.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/coralid_search.php

I haven't been able to find anything that beats the Australian Marine Institute of Science's Coral Search page. While the page never seems to work for searching, all the results work fine. *Note: This site is only for reef building corals. No softies.
http://www2.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/coralid_search.php These are my personal recommendation for references. There are LOTS more, but I can't remember them. the veron set "corals of the world" has pretty much all the stony corals. there is like half a book of different montiporas alone.
you want to see the crazy stuff, that is the book. borneman's book is very valuable for softie reference.
