Ro/di?

Anthony,

Hey i heard you say before you go with just DI and do not use RO for the reason of it wasting water.

Question if i go the same way can i just take off my RO from the RO/DI six stage system i have? and it will still be safe for my reef tank?

thanks for the help

yep... many folks do this exactly.

Remove the RO membrane and let the rest roll (carbon, prefilter and/or DI only)

If you can pack the RO housing instead with extra micron filtration (floos sleeve, eg) all the better. Seek 1-5 micron.

Do they make a DI system only w/o the other RO filters? Also how much would it shorten the lifespan of the DI membrane? I know it would depend on your starting water quality, but percentage of the life you'd usually get out of it.
