White splotch on purple deaths

No pic, but the frag got turned over onto the sand and now one polyp has this white splotch on part of it and lost the color on that area of the polyp. Was it just that it wasnt recieving any light or was irritated by being on the ground, or is it something more serious?

Sorry nobody answered.

Could have been any of the possibilities depending on how long it was on the sand. How's it doing now ?
