Reefers who love motorcycles

How many of us also are passionate about motorcycles? I have two bikes:

'88 Honda Hawk GT track bike
'95 Ducati Supersport 900cr

I've been doing trackdays for the past two years or so, really getting into it. I'm hoping to get my race license this year but we'll see how the funds are come riding season.

Anyone else planning on going to Laguna Seca for the MotoGP?

Here's a pic of me on the hawk:

- Yosh RS3 slip-ons

Had a 88' Honda Reflex and a 91' Honda XR 250

...can't afford track days, or Laguna Seca MotoGP.

But I'm going to Barber on the 23rd and 24th for the 1st AMA races (besides Daytona).

BMW R65. Am a fanatic for old euro-bikes. I troll Walnecker's weekly looking for that right ex-GP 50 year old machine that I can re-label a Duck, hang some lights on & register it for street use.

In my free time I enjoy driving metal rods through my flesh & performing water tests on the aquarium.

No shame in a Buell Oz! they took the best part of a HD (the engine) & ditched the worst part of a HD ( the bike). In the end they wound up with a REAL motorcycle.

First post in the o/t boards btw.. sure i made some new friends

I wanted to buy one - but just like the Harley commercial, I'm the dopey sap with the couch instead... then again - my couch is nice and comfy...

I got a 2003 Harley Sportster 883 custom. It’s now a 1200cc with a 10:1 compression ratio. I also installed a Mikuini 42 carb, Twin velocity air cleaner, Andrews N4 cams, Crain hi-4 single fire ignition, and Santee Snub nose exhaust. I also added Buckhorn bars and stainless steel cables for throttle, clutch, brake lines and oil lines. I added a Mustang Super Touring seat and Kuryakyn switchblade pegs.

Coming soon, replacing the belt with a chain drive and a wider rear tire.

All work except the 1200 kit was done by me.........

Its funny that you say the engine is the best part of the harley. While I admit that this may be true, the technology on the newer XB series buells is so nice that its really a shame to see such a low revving old tech style engine inside them. I really wish they could put the engine from the Vrod in them, or maybe just design something from the ground up. The XB buells are really cool bikes, and I love their styling most, but that engine is keeping them from being truly accepted amongst the majority of sport riders. That and the horrible resale value.

If I had unlimited funds though, I'd love to get an XB12R, that's just a cool bike.

I had a 98 wideGlide until I crashed it.
After surgery, I've been wearing this big neck brace for almost 3 months. (9 days to go).
Now I have a 04 FatBoy. And will be ready for summer to ride again.

What did you go and do that for Mark? Hopefully you didn't get hurt too bad.
On the bright side you got a new bike.

Nope. If you had an Ultra Tourglide we could overlook the reef tank, But with an ElectraGlide Classic you must have at least a 10g nano.

Sorry, but thanks for playing.

Horrible Buell resale value = you can have one in your garage CHEAP.

I'm honestly amazed they are still in business. Vrod should have been a Buell first & trickled down to HD.

I have a friend with an '01 Thunderbolt. Today we were cruising down the highway & he was literaly lapping me. Making circles around my 36HP fire-breathing Aryan Uberbike. we swapped bikes after an hour or so. He commented that my 30 year old R65 was the most comfortable bike he'd ever ridden. I neglected to mention that I almost high sided his ride trying a counter-steer a corner entry

With 100+ hp on tap I think I'd be dead within a month. The thing is like a slot-car on 2 wheels.

Resale...with all the Aq stuff we buy......what resale? I'm use to it. A bike with good resale.....costs too much to start with. It had better have resale.

All the horseys can be fun. Hit a frost raise in the road, just right and the mid-range shows itself(a little flinch throttle wise)...... and watch the front wheel rise......thats how my Fizzy does it I got 'bout 132 useable horseys(150 at cam)
