storing RO filter

Hello all, I need to know how to store the RO filter. My tank is a 29gal with 20gal sump the water volume is about 40gal after sand and rock, and for top off I use about 1\2 gal water so with 20% water change every two weeks I only use about 12gals RO ever two weeks. 5gal change 7gal top off. My RO filter is not permanently mounted so I have to take it down ever time. The question I have is do I need to just leave water in the filter or do I take it apart and let the filters air dry.

Never let an RO membrane dry out as it will be no good after.
Keep you RO unit pressured up by using small push fit ball valves on every pipe going to and from the unit.

For now all I have is carbon block filter, one houseing only dose not get everthing but its better than tap. I plan to add a pre fiber type filter as soon as I can. Its a DIY thing.

Would do the same anyway, but make sure you do not leave it for too long between use or you may end up with a unwanted build up of bacteria in your filter.

That will be fine.
I would try to get the unit completed to 4stage ASAP as carbon won't do that much realy.
Its the membrane and resin that do all the work, the pre filters just make them last longer.

Cool, Like you said anything is better than nothing.
I used to use a brita jug filter for my top off water.
