Clown Tang

What's the scoop on the Clown Tang?

Are they really mean/bossy and take over the tank?

They are really good looking and I'd like to have one in my reef. If you have one and can give me any info, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

hmm of course it's down to whether your QT it properly (and get a healthy eating individual at time of purchase)

I find Clown Tangs rather intimidating when larger (4+ inches)...and rather cute looking when 1-3 inches.

The thing thats almost a given is that it'll like to right, so you better be adding only larger, tougher fish after the clown

They grow insanely fast and get mean, mean, mean. I read in a book by Dr. Gerald Allen that they get nearly 70% of their adult size within a year in the wild. I really think they are cool fish but even a 225 they would make the whole tank theirs and would probably kill any other tang, large angel or anything like that eventually.
