Look for Chris at Aquatic Central in SF. He has a source for a local builder that he could help you get. My friend got one and he loves it.

I know a GREAT cabinet builder in South San Fran that could build you a terrific cabinet. I've had him do at least 6 jobs in my house. He even built my bedroom furniture 20 years ago. I still get compliments today on the quality of the workmanship.

His prices are the best around and he is a true perfectionist.

There are two "warnings" about this guy:
1. He doesn't take all jobs. If it doesn't interest him, he won't do it. He doesn't need the work or money, he just does what he loves.
2. Being a perfectionist, he takes a little longer than standard shop but it's worth it if you have the time. As I said, my furniture is 20 years old and looks great.

He hasn't done a fish tank stand "yet", but he used to build interiors for ocean going boats so he knows how to protect against saltwater. I say "yet" because he will be building mine in my next home. When I have more space I will be moving up to a 150G+ tank. We talked about the requirements and his ideas. After about an hour of discussion I was convinced he will build a better stand than anything on the market.

If you want me to forward your requirements on to him and see if he's interested, just tell me. If he's willing to do it and has time I'll give you his number.

Thanks for the info,

Nukeproof - I will check them out and see what they say.

Dyngoe - Thanks, im including a basic pic of what im looking for, but ill send you the plans once they are a little more completed. One thing im interested in is someone who can maximize the internal space while offering a stable stand since Im pretty lame at that sort of thing.

Stand example with the doors open (not a great sketch but the idea is there)

thanks

Now that might just be cool enough to interest Dave!

I'll forward the "rough" idea to him. When you get it more finalized, send me the details.

when you get a chance let me know if you think Dave would be interested. If more info is needed I can definitly get it to you.

Also, Ive got a pic of dimensions for the stand in my gallery for a bit more info.

Thanks again.
