fastest growing macro algae

With the discussion about refugiums, I wondered which was the fastest growing macro algae..

you cannot pinpoint any specific species...each will grow at different rates given different bioloads and flow....but i will vote cheato...

To me Chaeto is the best because it does not really attach to rocks and doesn't go sexual and foul your tank and grows very fast with very little light.

My vote would be Chaeto too. It's the easiest to grow also. I started out with a softbal size in my refugium and now it's bigger than a football. I usually prune it back to the original size and start the process over again. I know it's gotten too big when the tiny brittle stars start climbing to the top of it.
