mixed some miracle mud with some mud from another source just for the heck of it.

seems good so far. but it's only been running for a few weeks.

Depends on your budget. I didn't want to spend $32 per gallon of Miracle Mud for 5" of DSB in my fuge. I bought one gallon and mixed with live sand.

Sand,I would use miracle mud but the sand is doing fine elinimating my nitrates.
