Euroreef Pump is dead

Is there anything that can be done to bring back to life a dead euroreef RS-5-2 skimmer pump? The pump is about 13 months old and refuses to work.

have you took it apart and soaked it in vinegar with hot water??

sometimes the calcium deposits freeze the pumps up...

euro reef has a 2 year warranty...
i would make sure that you soak the pump in vinegar and hot water water about half and half. take it apart pull the shaft out and seperate them for a good cleaning.

if it still doesnt work then contact them

Same happened to me, however warranty was expired. I had to buy a new pump, which ran me about $89 w/ shipping from www.saltycritter.com That was the cheapest I found the Sedra needlewheel for.

I got mine from these guys http://www.globeaqua.com/ or check out the used drygoods section here on RC. I have never cleaned my sedra and it starts everytime, I feel its noisy though. Check this out and ditch the sedra.

Is there any way you can salvage the pump shroud and impeller? On my Sedra they both can easily be seperated from the main pump.
If yours can do this than maybe you can buy the pump cheaper and add your parts to it? Its a hellavu lot cheaper if you can......

On a side note, in the second link Allstar.h20 provided does that Eheim pump say made in W. Germany?? I thought the wall fell way back when.
