Purple Xmas Tree Rock eating critter.

A small purple something looks to be cruising around my Xmas tree rock and leaving it white and dead looking. It has small bumps or really short tentacles and a white dot in the middle.

What is it and should I pick it off?

Except for the color, almost exact. It leaves that same white dead path behind it also. I pulled it off, there was either two of them or I ripped the one in half. There looks to be little white flower type things where it was.

Should I get the whole rock out of the tank? Will there be more of these? Will these things start eating anything else?

Does anything eat these little guys. I would really like to save this rock.
