Custom tank question. Please read.

I'm looking to have a custom 180g built possibly out of acrylic or starphire. My questions are:

- Is there a special type of acylic used?
- I'm looking to build a tank that is 48W x 24H x 36D with a eurobrace. What thickness in acrylic do need?
- Is it possible to do a starphire front viewing glass with everything else being acrylic?
- How big of an overflow box do I need and how do I know how low to cut the strainers?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. TIA

1. Cell Cast acrylic - not extruded acrylic.
2. I have a eurobraced 84 x 30 x 30 that is 1.25 inches thick acrylic
3. Yes, but only A.E.G. does that (as far as I know). They also will do a PVC bottom. You need special UV equipment to make those seems come together.
4. The teeth are usually 1.5 inches long. The tooth gap that I cut on my sump was .25 inches and I put a tooth at 1.5 inches. Looks the same as the teeth on my tenecor overflow. This seems pretty standard by any tank maker.
5. The bigger your overflow the better. You want to skim the very surface of the water where most of the nutrients are. Mine is trapeziodal in shape. Depends on how much flow to put through. Mine is 22 inches wide (if I can recall).
