Ugh... we've been trying to locate a source for these guys for months now. ORA lists them as available for this year, but we haven't had any luck with ORA shops as yet. Additionally, seahorsesource has had them listed as out of stock for many months now. They do have them at seahorse-australia, but the shipping is way too prohibitive for a small order. Does anyone know if these guys are available anywhere? Are there any enthusiasts in the northeastern US interested in possibly pooling an order through seahorse-australia?

Have you contacted SA seahorse to find out if they have any distributors that have ordered recently? If you do that, you can probably back track them through the distributor to find retailers that have them.

I've spoken to Rachelle at seahorse-australia back and forth quite a bit. The optimum purchase would be about 100kg, or about 5 boxes, which could hold ~180 fish. But do the math on that, you really need to be able to source out those fish, you need to be an importer/distributor, or you need to have almost all of those fish spoken for before bringing them in.

Yeah, that's why I was suggesting finding out a distributor that had already/recently purchased some. I think you're going to have a tough time finding enough people interested to do a joint order like that.

Tchya, I know. 180 fish... even assuming a discount, maybe $20/fish, just guessing, still looking at, with shipping, probably around $6-7k, maybe more. Works to around $40/fish... no wonder they sell for upwards of $60.

I might try ORA again if it has been awhile. They shipped some out very recently.
