Octopus Recirc Needlewheel 200 owners...

The space I have in my planned sump is 17.5” x 10”, wanted to use the octopus recirc 200 octopus recirc 200 but it lists the footprint as 21" x 9"....

in the pic it looks like alot of that length is due to how the outlet plumbing is configured...

was wondering if it could possibly fit in my sump just by swinging the outlet arm 90 degrees one way ....

THANKS!

next question, can these be run outside of the sump?

if so, how high/low does the return bulkhead/plumbing to the sump need to be?

I'm almost certain they can be run both ways, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to find out if they can be run in sump - as most people comment they can be run externally.

They can be run in or out of the sump, but either way, it'll need to be fed. I run mine externally because I need to.

I am considering direct feeding it from the overflow, but i have heard there are problems regulating the flow this way, but if not i'll probably just use a feed pump.

I direct feed my skimmer from my overflow. I use a valve to control how much flow I direct to the skimmer. If the flow to your sump is pretty stable, the flow shouldn't fluctuate much.
