I dumped about 1/3 cup of vinegar in my tank!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!
I poured some in a cup and was using a syringe to kill some Aiptasia when my dog jumped on me and I knocked it in.
What if anything should I do? 72 gal w/20 gal sump.

Make sure the ph doesn't drop too much ( .2-.3 ). Look at the inhabitants, do they mind? Maybe add some KalK (slowly!) which is basic( high ph) to offset the addition of the acid (vinegar). Water change? Whatever you do , dont freak out.

Possible decent sized water change and keep an eye on the pH and calcium. It isn't the worse thing to drop in the tank, but can swing the parameters off kilter.

PH is 7.9

Was 7.9 or is now? If 7.9 was normal for your tank or not? In other words if your ph was 8.5 and is now 7.9, thats a big drop, if your ph was 8.0 and is now 7.9, not a big drop.

About a week ago it was 8.2

Not a "huge" drop but if you have some kalkwasser mixed up or some buffer laying around, may not hurt to bump that 7.9 up to 8.0 or 8.1.

Most tanks swing .3 in a day anyway. As long as the pH doesn't keep dropping and the corals look cool you will be fine.

I would watch for signs of a bacterial bloom. That might require some water changes.
Also, the vinegar will bind up some alkalinity temporarily, so the level might look depressed for a bit.

I do not think 1/3 cup in a 72 gallon tank will be a problem.
