Macroalgae recipes?

Maybe for most this sounds gross, but I'm curious: has anyone ever tried to eat the macroalgae growing in their 'fuge (or tank)? I dont currently have any fish that like eating the stuff I have (chaetomorpha, gracilaria) and I feel guilty throwing it out after harvesting. Eating it (well cleaned of course) seems like an interesting way to recycle those nutrients.

So far, the only thing I've found is a single recipe book: Sea Vegetable Recipes for the Pacific Islands . I've yet to try any recipe.

Anyone done this?
