Caulerpa dying

I have caulerpa (floridiana or mexicana, im not sure) in my refugium, It was doing great for like 6 months and growing super fast, but in the last two days it started dying, I haven't done changes into my tank, other than the regular weekly water changes.
does anyone know why is dying and what should I do?

Thanks

Caulerpa has a tendency to do that. Mostly when it happens it is going "sexual". I would remove all the dead/dying patches and some of the healthy ones too. I use caulerpa, and have experience this before. What has been working for me now, it to keep it lit 24/7 and to prune it back regularly. So far (2 yrs now) so good. One theory is that a lack of nutrients are "noticed" by it, so it dies off and releases "seeds"

When you prune are you doing anything special to avoid release of the "milky innerds"?

I have never had that problem at all. I just grab a handful and pull.

Okay, not that careless, don't want any loose strands floating around, but I do not do anything special. Never had any issues with the "milky innerds", though I have heard of that problem.
