Mods for AquaC EV240

I keep going back to the AquaC skimmer. I asked some local guys and found 3 of the use the EV120. They all like the skimmer. I would most likly buy the EV240 since I plan on a 210 gallon tank. There is a mod posted as a review on Marine Depots website.

Does anyone know if this mod works? I would have to buy the pump. This mod would allow me to buy the smaller model and get the larger performance. Besides the pump the only other difference seems to be the height of the unit (26" vs 32") which gives it a higher volume of foam. I see the input on both units is 3/4 inch so adding a 1" injector seems useless since you would have to reduce the plumbing to enter the skimmer.

Anyone have experience with this type of mod?

1. EV400 w/ brand new 1" injector. Steve from Aqua C sent me the new 1" injector to replace the 3/4" injector that comes w/ the skimmer. Unfortunately it didn't get here before I tore down the skimmer, so it's never been used...................

Thanks for the message, I can help you out. Our EV-240 and 400 models now come standard with the larger injector. We recently began sending them out with the 1" injector within the last few months, so if you happen to get one with the smaller, 3/4" injector, just let me know, and I'll send the larger one out to you.
