300 Gallon tank lighting question.
Putting together a 300 gal. Tank 36" deep. Does anyone have experience with T5 in such a big tank? I’m planning to have Corals of all types.

For that size tank I myself would go with 400 watt halides. Im not up to date with the T5's. I have seen T5's work great on tanks with species of all corals, but the tank wasnt this deep.
T5's are great lights, the only problem is I am not sure if they will have penetrating power for your tank. |

I have a 3' deep 400 G tank and am using 400 W DE MH lights on mine. My LPS seem to do great on the bottom and I have my SPS higher up. I am switching from coral vue pendants to lumenarc pendants tonight. I talked with lumenarc and they said that this pendant should focus the light more which will help in penetrate the larger depth.
HTH.
