Don't expect change; in more ways than one. She won't "change" (she'll be fine, especially if you can afford the loss of $) and pennies and nickels are larger than dimes, so don't expect change, they're harder to pass.

She'll be fine! Please don't worry.

I would just let it pass through a 3 yr old should pass pretty easy but chceck his poop to make sure it passes. If he just swallowed you can use ipicat to induse vomiting but I would just let it pass if it happened earlier it shoul be half way through his GI track. Good Luck.

I personally wouldnt use syrup of ipecac, to induce vomiting, because there is a chance of the child choking on it and escalating the situation.
PS- Now is a very good time to explain the:
what goes up must come down
what goes in must come out
lessons.

Our daughter swallowed a ring at about the same age.
We went to our doctor, not because we were worried, we just wanted a pic of it. It turned out great, only thing is we missed the recovery.
She's 7 now and we have a pic of a broken arm to add to it.

Wow! I wouldn't want to be your child. Taking pics of injuries and mishaps and all.

Why not?? That's 1/2 the fun of having kids.

You see, you drag this stuff out with the naked bathtub pictures when they graduate high-school.

It's worth the permanent mental scaring just to see the look of horror on their faces.

Oh remember when tommy liked wearing those dresses?? He was so cute

Totally agree 100% all the crap they put you through as they grow up it's least we can get in return! I have a 16 year daughter and all the stuff she is doing now has to be pay backs for when I was a teenager. She swallowed a marble when she was 2 or 3 it all gets pushed out in the end

There will be a conversation sometime in the future about this & I'll be betting large and pulling out picture proof.

As far as the broken arm goes if I'm paying for an x-ray I may as well take something more than a bill home.

1st and most important *** DO NOT USE Ipecac
as one person suggested!!!! that is very old school thinking and not good as she could block her airway as the coin tries to go back out. BAD IDEA!

If she is in no apparent distress and you dont hear strange noises while she breaths leave it be and check in her stool till its passed.. If you dont locate it then an x-ray may be required to located the coin and make sure its not lodge anywhere in her digestive tract (unlikely but possible)

you local EMS paramedic provider

Our daughter did the exact same thing (children are like hoovers, they pick up everything off the floor, table and straight in the mouth) Our Dr had us wait a day and when it didn't pass, we gave her a stool softner with lots of liqids. This helped increase her bowel movements so she passed the coin quicker and made us feel alot better about the whole thing. But always call your dr after they do things like this, thats why they have those great afterhour lines.

Just wait until she puts something up her nose
