3 new corals would like ID

I just picked these up at Salty Critter tonight and would love an ID on them.

#3 is reminiscent of the Incredible Hulk without the pink polyps...it has the exact same growth and polyp look as my incredible hulk. I agree with wentreefgirl, get the polyps to retract on #1 for a better chance at ID based on corallite structure. All three look really nice.

I'd be willing to bet that in #1 you have an Acropora millepora.

Thats what I was thinking but with the polyps in it does not have the scaly look to it.

I'd ask Shawn. He'd know.

1. Millepora. Probably Shawns.
2. Nana/Valida - Bali Tri color
3. Dont know.
But I got a frag there that looked almost like that and now looks more like A. Plana.

That'd be pretty nuts if it was an albrolho. I've never seen one in a red/pink like that before; only blueish/brownish or green.

Google is turning up nothing for abroholensis or albrolho. Is that the correct spelling that you have?

Treg I'll shoot an email to them to see if I can get an ID.

It's spelled "albrolhosensis". Stems from the acro's origin, the islands of Albrolho.

From what I saw in a google search it is definitively not that. I sent saltycritter an email to see if they can help out.

Hey All,

I will do my best to ID these as I have all had something like this in the past.

1) Will the crazy polyps I believe this to be A. millepora

2) With the small radial corallites and tricolor pattern I think this might be A. valida, but it is quite small and it could be A. nana if it grows out and the branches thin out.

3) A. parilis as you will see the branches snake out in all directions as this piece grows out. I have a larger colony in my warehouse and it is quite stunning with purple branches and green polyps.

I hope this helps you out....

I have a frag of a Milli that is very similar to #1 (maybe even more red). It is a very, very slow grower. Kind of reminds me of the blue milli; tons of encrusting, but very slow upwards growth. Sweet frag nonetheless.
