should I reinforce bottom of 265?

Im drilling a 265/ 84X24. It will be a peninnsula tank. 3 holes across one end for the overflow ,return and a closed loop. Each hole will be 1.75". I would like to drill 3 X 1.75" holes equally spaced down each side in the bottom about 4" in from the outer edge. 6 holes down the tank and 3 across the end for a total of 9.
Ive been told by my LFS that they "fear" this will weaken the bottom and that I should reinforce it in a sort of euro brace style by adding strips across the bottom. Please share your thoughts and experiences. thanks.
