quick marco rock curing???

i thought that i read a few months ago about people soaking marco dry rock in some sort of solution to cook/cure it quicker. i thought it was using some type of acid. i ordered some for my nano and it is suppose to arrive next week. i already have some live rock from my refugium in the tank, but i wanted to see if i could speed up the process and just cook the rock. the extra marco rock, i am going to put back in the refugium of the main tank.

thanks

I had approx 50+ lbs of rock similar to Marco rock. I did the following:

Day 1 - 3 Rock into tub of salt water with pumps to circulate water.

Day 4 Took the whole smelly mess out of the garage. Dumped the water and REALLY rinsed all rock with fresh water.

Day 4 (cont) Placed the rinsed rock back into salt water with pumps, heater, skimmer and a couple of live rocks.

Day 15 Placed all rock in my new 75 gallon with another 50lbs of cured live rock.

All this cycled in about 21 days.
