I have 27w fluorescent bulb that i purchased from home depot. It is equivalent to to 100w bulb. Will this work in growing the proper cheato and other algea in a refugium? I think the K have something to with all of this, and this is 5500 K?

It will be ok but 7500k is the ideal k for a sump. The wattage is fine
