Frag plug question
I just got some frags that came on pretty big aragocrete plugs. They are really hard to place. What do you do with those sorts of things? Do you take the whole frag off and glue it to rock or break the plug down so it fits in some place?
What's your strategy? |

Just a personal preference but I usually take them off the plug and remount on my own plugs, disks or glue them directly onto rocks in the tank. A lot of people like to use rubble as well.

What technique do you use to remove them from the original plug? I am afraid of damaging them when I remove them.

Depending on how encrusted they are, you can break them off by hand. Or if they're really encrusted, you can use a knife to pry them off. Corals are pretty tough so don't worry too much about damaging them.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm just too worried about doing the wrong thing.

About the only thing wrong you can do is injuring yourself in the process.
