can u get popeye from trauma?
I have a female squareback anthias who jumped out of the tank yesterday when she got so excited to eat. She landed on the floor and I immediately put her in the net and back in the tank. She recovered pretty quickly I think after the shock value.
Today, she has one eye which is popeye! Can this be from injury from yesterday? I have tried to read about popeye on forum, but its down. I know you can get popeye from bacteria infection, but none of my other fish are showing stress or popeye. Any thoughts? Thanks!! |

Physical trauma is one of the most common ways fish get popeye. It may heal on its own, but an antibiotic in the food is not a bad idea.
