Diamond Watchman Goby advice...
Hey there,
I've asked this before, but, this particular question got overlooked... I have a dsb of about 5-6" in a 46g bow. (As my rocks are currently set up, i have tons of sand area.) I've read where these things need to be in everything from a min. of 5 cups to 500gal to thrive. Aside from the compatability questions, which were answered, would I make a DWG happy? Thanks!! J |

I think you would. I have about a 2" sandbed and mine loves it. Just remember they are jumpers so you need a lid.

I have my second one now, in my 180, with about 4" of sand. He's doing fine, but I did put some screening on the back of my canopy opening. My first one found his way out. They are notorius jumpers, and spook pretty easily. They're fun to watch though, and great at keeping your sand bed clean.

I have had 3 DWG in my 72gal with 2inch of sand. He always seems happy, lives for 3-4 months and dies. Not sure why, i am done getting them though.

My LFS has one in a 300 gallon, and the SB is about 2", if that. He's been there, (same one, I'm sure of it) for at least a year now. I haven't heard they're frail at all, just notorious for jumping. Mine will eat when I feed, so I know he's not gonna starve.

I'm definitely going to have to get some gutter guard, or what have you. Not too mention that I need to cover my overflow with it once i figure out how to convince my lawnmower to get out of isolation.

i had one for about 5 months until his fins were almost totally torn off. I didnt notice it much since he didnt come out of his cave except to dig and feed. He was fun as hell to watch but I gave him away when I saw my purple pisces snack on its fins. Never jumped though.

I am on my second one in a year. The first one died because I believe it starved to death. A local reefer told me that they need to eat at least twice a day. I used to feed at 6pm nightly, but I give him a little snack at lunch. He is healthy and happy and has outlived my other one by quite some time now. Good luck!
